Solaris*Windows Systems Administrator - High Wycombe - £neg
Our internet provider client require an engineer with several years of solid senior administrator level experience in Solaris and Windows platforms. Other required skills are system level scripting (Perl*PHP*shell etc) and an excellent, detailed understanding of common Internet service software (Sendmail * Apache & IIS * BIND * RADIUS etc) and associated applications (SNMP based tools, large scale backup etc). Networking and routing knowledge (in server environment) is essential. ISP experience is preferred, but not required.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure along with excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge transfer, cross-training and mentoring will be involved, as is assisting sales teams with pre-sales advice. There is a significant amount of customer contact, so experience in dealing with customers both pre- and post-sales is desirable. This role requires shift work between 8am and 8pm, and on-call rota 2 of 12 days. A full UK driving licence is required.
